The best way to see if Scouting is right for your family is to visit us on a Monday night. Meet the leaders, see the Scouts in action, and ask all your questions.
Ready to commit? Our registration process is entirely digital. Click the link below to head to the official BSA registration portal for Troop 4.
Don't let equipment costs slow you down. We'll help you understand what you need (and what you don't). Check our Resources page for a basic gear list.
Do we need a uniform for the first meeting?
Nope! Just wear comfortable clothes. We'll walk you through the uniform requirements once you decide to join.
Do they need prior Scouting experience to join?
Not at all. Whether your child has been in Cub Scouts for years or is putting on a backpack for the very first time, they will fit right in. Our program is designed to teach them everything they need to know from day one.
Do parents need to stay for the meetings?
You are always welcome to stay, observe, and get to know the other families, but it is not required. However, because we are a growing Troop, we’d love to chat with you about how your unique skills could help support the Scouts behind the scenes!
Do we need to buy expensive camping gear right away?
Please don't! The only things a new Scout needs to get started are the official BSA Scout Handbook and their uniform. For camping trips, we will provide a clear packing list. We focus on the basics, and Scouts can often share or borrow troop gear while they are just starting out.
How does the Troop handle costs and dues?
Scouting is a valuable investment in your child's future. Costs include the annual BSA national registration and modest local Troop dues to cover awards, insurance, and activities. We strive to keep our program highly affordable, and we participate in fundraisers throughout the year to help Scouts "earn their own way" to camp!
